THE RETURN
Islanders return to City Island’s Skyline Sports Complex
The Capital City Islanders are back home after a pair of losses to start the season. 0-1 vs. SFC 1924 and a rough 0-4 against NJ Alliance.
The Islanders look to return to their winning ways against Bulldogs SC.
THE INSIDER TAKE
The Islanders have a record of 8-1-2 on City Island, so they’ve made it their fortress. The only time the Islanders have ever lost on City Island was nearly a year ago against Allstars FC, 1-0.
If we lose again, the playoffs might slip from our grasp. Saturday, we’ve got to stop the bleeding and remind ourselves… we are Islanders!
OPTIMISM ABOUNDS!
This is not the first time the Islanders have lost two games back-to-back. In the fall, the lads lost 2-1 vs Passaic and 0-1 vs Ironbound SCP.
Despite this, we won the division and made the round of 16 in the national tournament.
INSIDER TAKE
We took the division title and made the round of 16 in the National tournament, losing to the eventual champion in the fall.
But without some goals, this is going to be tough sledding. Clovis Kabre may be gone, but the remainder of the squad has goals in them. It’s time to stand up.
Islander Insider video podcast packed with content

The Islander Insider video podcast is back with new content. Episode 5 recounts what happened in Clifton, NJ, on Sunday.
There’s other content on there, including an analysis of where the Islanders fit in the USA soccer pyramid and how USA professional soccer compares to European soccer.
INSIDER TAKE
The podcast has been fun to make and delivers way, way more information than I can squeeze into this quick email.
2026 Sponsors Announced
The Islanders welcomed new sponsors and renewed others: Maximize Training Center, YG Productions, In the Net, Crunch Fitness, Members 1st, Tucker & Co., Hersheypark, SquadUP, Chick-fil-A, Michelob Ultra, and Zehring Physical Therapy.
INSIDER TAKE
We simply cannot sustain the team without the financial support of these businesses. Please patronize them and tell them the Islanders sent you!
If you are interested in sponsoring the team, this newsletter, the video podcast, please email Daniel Ardron, Director of Corporate Partnership and Business Development: [email protected]
Key Matches Ahead
Let’s take a quick look ahead at the rest of the spring schedule. Here are some matches I’ve circled on the calendar with a red Sharpie:
Hersheypark Night, May 2:
We’ll face Cosmos’ B team, but the big deal is the Hersheypark passes! The first 1,500 youth ages 12 and under with a paid ticket get a complimentary Hersheypark pass thanks to the Islanders' partnership with Hershey Entertainment. Additionally, there will be QR codes posted in the stadium for purchasing additional (adult or youth) discounted Hersheypark tickets.
For this match, youth tickets are $14 and adult tickets are $7. Get your tickets today!
World Cup Night, May 30:
Mark your calendars — the Islanders return to City Island on May 30 to host Philadelphia Lonestar at Skyline Sports Complex, with kickoff at 7:00 p.m. Every guest 21 and older who attends is automatically entered to win tickets to World Cup 2026. This is our final home game of the Spring 2026 season!

Internship and Volunteer Opportunities
The Islanders are a team built by many hands, and we need help. Do you want a peek behind the curtain to see how a semi-pro soccer team operates? Do you need National Honor Society volunteer hours? Looking for an Eagle Scout project? Retired and bored at home? We have a variety of internship and volunteer opportunities.
Club Shop
My 4-year-old daughter helped me set up a display for my Islanders jersey just yesterday. It looks pretty snazzy, and the blue-and-white checkerboard pattern is very distinctive. Check out the club shop for this beauty and more!
Last Word
As a programming note, I’ll be bringing you the Islander Insider Newsletter each week. It’ll be chock-full of inside info from the team, interviews, stats, and more.
